Summer is just around the corner and Malta is the perfect destination for good food, sun, nightlife and… beaches! Lying down on a beach or floating in the water, here’s our ultimate guide to beaches in Malta!

Beaches in Malta - Ramla

1. Ramla Bay (Nadur, Gozo)

Picturesque red sands, Ramla Bay is a must-visit beach in Malta. Located on the sister island of Gozo, all you have to do is catch the fast ferry and make your way over! It is definitely worth the trip. The heat will make you melt as you’re tanning, or enjoying your time swimming in Ramla Bay’s shallow waters!

2. Ħondoq Bay (Qala, Gozo)

Also, located in Gozo, Ħondoq is quite different from Ramla Bay. For starters, Ħondoq is full of small, smooth pebbles that naturally come from Gozo’s rock. Don’t worry about the pebbles, though, you can easily walk on them as well as lie on your towel with ease. What makes Ħondoq so unique is its blue waters. Always clear and naturally a bit frisky, Ħondoq Bay will make your jaw drop when you see how beautiful it is.

Beaches in Malta - Ghadira

3. Għajn Tuffieħa Bay (Mġarr)

Għajn Tuffieħa Bay is one of Malta’s most picturesque and tranquil beaches, which we highly recommend! The bay is known for its golden-red sand and clear turquoise waters. What makes Għajn Tuffieħa so cool is its dramatic cliffs! From the top, you can see panoramic views of the entire bay. Seeing it at sunset is especially incredible!

4. Għadira Bay (Mellieħa)

Għadira Bay, also known as Mellieħa Bay, has the largest sandy beaches in Malta! The bay is very shallow, plus the water is always calm in the summer. It is ideal for families with young children. There are also a lot of cool activities to enjoy at Għadira Bay, like jet skiing, paddle boating, windsurfing, and banana boat rides!

5. Blue Lagoon (Comino)

The most popular beach in Malta, the Blue Lagoon, is known for its turquoise-blue waters! Not only do the Maltese love heading over to the smaller island of Comino, but tourists love the Blue Lagoon too. The beach is known for its food trucks, where you can find anything you desire – fast food, ice cream, snacks, but one thing you absolutely must try at the Blue Lagoon is a cocktail pineapple!
