At the Eden Cinemas in Malta, we make sure to accommodate everyone at our cinema. Being one of the best in Malta means that we care, which is why we have autism-friendly monthly screenings held in a sensory-sensitive environment with lower sound levels and dimmed lights.
These screenings have a relaxed atmosphere, and staff are trained to accommodate individuals with autism, with measures like free seating and pre-cooked popcorn.
1. Sensory Adjustments
Sound levels are lowered, and lights are kept dim during the film. We avoid using LED screens in the foyer and refrain from using barcode scanners at cashpoints, too. The atmosphere is relaxed, with no judgment for guests who need to move around or make noise.
These thoughtful adjustments help ensure that everyone can enjoy the movie comfortably, allowing families and individuals to fully immerse themselves in the experience without stress or discomfort. Our goal is to provide a safe, understanding space for all.
